myProgress Expansion to Form I-485 and Form I-821

USCIS has implemented myProgress to improve customer experience by proactively addressing applicant concerns as to the status of their benefit requests while waiting for a decision. myProgress allows certain applicants to access personalized estimates of processing times for their cases’ major milestones and actions, includes their final case decision. Such applicants may access the information in their online account.

Starting on November 21, 2023, USCIS has expanded its applications of myProgress to Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status.

Accordingly, myProgress is currently available for applicants with a USCIS online account and who have filed online or linked one of the following applicable forms to their online account using an online access code:

The myProgress tab in the USCIS online account displays the following information:

  • Estimated processing time;
  • Confirmation of the receipt of the application;
  • Application’s progress through preprocessing and adjudicative steps; and
  • Case decision.

Currently, most applicants may send USCIS an inquiry if their case has been pending longer than the normal processing time. However, applicants may not use the personalized estimates of processing times provided by myProgress to determine if their cases are outside of the normal processing time. Instead, such applicants still need to rely on USCIS’ Case Processing Times to determine if they may file a case status request.
